The Baseball Project Goes Midseason Midwest
Mike Mills once again joins Linda Pitmon, Steve Wynn, and Scott McCaughey for a week of music and America's Pastime this July, as the band hits some favorite cities across the heartland. In Milwaukee they'll stop by Miller Park to sing the anthem in front of a fun-loving Brewers crowd, before rocking the Anodyne with local stalwarts (and openers on all these club dates) The Wooldridge Brothers. They'll visit legendary Fitzgerald's just outside Chicago, and no doubt take in some nearby Frank Lloyd Wright architecture ("Hey mister, can we have our ball back?"). Then it's off to rural Iowa, returning to one of the coolest venues around, that big ol' barn with its ultra-hospitable R.E.M.-loving hosts. The Turf Club in St. Paul is always a blast, and the next day you can catch the group playing before and throughout a Twins game at Target Field. Play ball!

We had a fantastic time playing the Big Star Third show at First Ave (Minneapolis)! If you don't have the Big Star and Chris Bell albums in your collection, go get them now.
In this picture - Ken Stringfellow (Poises), Audley Freed (Sheryl Crow), Scott Wooldridge, Brian Wooldridge, Jody Stephens (Big Star), Chris Stamey (dB's) - you can't see him here but Mike Mills (REM) is playing bass on this one.
Scott and Brian will be joining this fine crew for an amazing show!
